CUCA MACUCA HOSTEL BRANDING
Cuca Macuca is a hostel located in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, with an authentic and community-driven approach. My client aimed to strengthen their visual and strategic identity to stand out from competitors, attract travelers who value human connection, and position themselves as a unique space within the Riviera Maya hostel market.

VISUAL IDENTITY
The main challenge was translating the essence of the place—its relaxed, traveler-centric, and welcoming vibe—into a professional, coherent brand without losing the natural and genuine character that makes it special. Many hostels in the region communicate with a generic tone, making it essential to create a distinctive and memorable identity.
Through a comprehensive brand strategy and creative direction process, I developed a visual and narrative concept that reflects the warmth of the Caribbean, the sense of community, and the adventurous spirit of Cuca Macuca. I defined the brand’s core idea, tone of voice, and visual style: earthy and coastal colors, retro-handcrafted typography, and a natural, spontaneous photographic aesthetic. Together, these elements formed an identity that communicates authenticity, approachability, and trust, clearly differentiating the hostel from its competitors.
The result is a solid, strategic brand that not only conveys the essence of the space but also strengthens its positioning in the tourism market. This project showcases my ability to combine research, strategy, and creativity into branding solutions that create real impact for my clients.
